Dr. Lluís Fina i Puig
20th century Catalan painting collection, 3/8/2024 – 22/9/2024

The collection of 20th-century Catalan painting by Dr. Lluís Fina i Puig is an exceptional testament to the diversity and artistic richness of this period. It brings together works by outstanding painters linked to the Empordà and the Catalan pictorial tradition. This selection reflects Dr. Fina’s passion for the landscape, light and artistic identity of the territory, highlighting both figuration and the most lyrical and evocative expression of Catalan painting.

The pieces that make up the collection, with signatures such as Ramon Barnadas, Pere Gussinyé, Josep Ministral, Joan Clapera Maà and Antoni Casamor, among others, stand out for their quality and ability to capture the essence of the Empordà and the artistic sensitivity of the 20th century.

With a combination of styles ranging from impressionism to subtle abstraction, the authors present in this collection share a vision rooted in the land and the sea, transmitting genuine emotion through color and composition. This collection is therefore not only a set of exceptional works, but also a cultural legacy that contributes to preserving and disseminating Catalan artistic heritage.

Dr. Lluís Fina i Puig

Originally from Empordà, born in Figueres in 1933 and recognized for his dedication to medicine and dermatology, one of his great passions.

The other passion, developed to the same extent, was art in general, and very specifically, painting. It was around the seventies when, with other painting-loving friends, he delved into the knowledge of Catalan artists, with special attention to the painters of Girona and Empordà of the 20th century.
