“Like castaways” It is a feeling and a realization experienced over time. It aims to illustrate how lost we are when we are not together, something that not everyone knows and that we often forget.
Human life is a place where you can’t stay forever and yet it’s not perceived that way. The days slip by and when you surface you realize you were dead. We live like castaways thinking that we will find life on the shore and it is when we are out of breath that we are most alive.
We know that we can live in a prison or as visionaries. Prison if you are the observed, vision if you are the observer. In the role change is where you become aware again.
I paint, draw or write to materialize visions.
The movement of water in the wild, the supposed statism of things, the invisibility of passing time, the murmur of the mountain, but also well-told stories, can connect me with sublime states.
The exhibition that I present to you organizes some of these visions in the same space. They are works made with pictorial and xylographic techniques, but also with various materials galvanized with the color of the pieces.
I have selected those pieces that best reflect the eureka moments, those that seem appropriate to illustrate the title of the exhibition, but also those that show stages of shipwrecked life or the life that happens between shipwrecks.
I wish you a good journey and may life allow you to create .

Marta Córcoles
Marta Córcoles (Barcelona, 1975), studies the Higher Degree in Applied Wall Arts (Painting) at the School of Plastic Arts and Superior Design of Olot, where she has the opportunity to participate in classes with artists and teachers such as Jordi Isern, Rafel G. Bianchi, Mafa Alborés, Carme Ortiz or Marta Trepat among others.
From 2011 she began to develop large-format pieces, first in engraving and then mixing this with pictorial techniques, canvases, paper and objects. All this led her, little by little, to leave aside her marked figurative character and create diffuse textures and colors, delving into abstraction.
