“For Jesús Ramos, the painting feels small. This wooden rectangle that he uses as a canvas often represents large geographical spaces compressed in their cartographic representation.

At first glance we might think that this is a simple abstract painting that owes its own autonomy and that responds to art for art's sake. But this is not the case. If we look closely at the surface of these cartographies, in which ochre and blue dominate, they often hide a grid that structures the physical space of the painting, even if what is represented does not have a direct relationship with this reticular network. .
