This pictorial work was born from the rediscovered appreciation for the poetry of Joan Salvat-Papasseit. From the intensity with which the poet took on his work, as if he knew that he did not have much time and that life must be lived with the greatest possible fullness.
The rereading of his poems, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, and in recent times and now on the centenary of his death, has stimulated the artist in the creation of this pictorial work.
Nothing is petty.
nor is any hour a chamois,
nor is the night's adventure dark.
And the dew is clear
that the sun rises and sets
and has delight in the bath:
that mirrors the bed of everything done.
Nothing is petty,
and all rich like wine on the rosy cheek.
And the sea wave always laughs,
Winter spring – Summer spring.
And everything is Spring:
and every leaf is green forever.
Nothing is petty,
because the days don't pass;
and death does not come even if you have asked for it.
And if you asked for it, it hides a hole from you
because to be born again you need
to die.
And we are never a crybaby
but a fine smile
that scatters like orange crickets.
Nothing is petty.
because the song sings in every strand of
thing.
-Today, tomorrow and yesterday
a rose will wither:
and the youngest virgin will have milk at her breast.
