This pictorial work was born from the rediscovered appreciation for the poetry of Joan Salvat-Papasseit. From the intensity with which the poet took on his work, as if he knew that he did not have much time and that life must be lived with the greatest possible fullness.

The rereading of his poems, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, and in recent times and now on the centenary of his death, has stimulated the artist in the creation of this pictorial work.

Nocturne for accordion

Here it is: I have stored wood on the dock.
You don't know.
what is it
to store wood on the dock:
but I have seen the rain
in bars
about the bots,
and beneath the planks the price of
anguish;
under the flanders
and the honeys,
under the sacred cedars.

When the police officers spied at night
and the vault of heaven was a hole
without lights in the carriages:
and I made a fire of splinters inside the wolf's throat.

You don't know.
what is it
to store wood on the dock:
but all the hands of all the trenchers
like a farandola
They swore an oath in the shadow of my fire.
And it was like a miracle
who stretched out his hands that were limp.

And the footsteps were lost in the fog.

You don't know.
what is it
to store wood on the dock:
You don't even know the prayer of the ships' lanterns
-that are of so many colors
like the sea under the sun:
that he doesn't need candles.
