“Behind Mejan’s painting there is a person, as is usually the case in all human actions that claim to have a certain transcendence. There is also a biography structured by leaving aside the concrete facts that are so imposed on a daily basis and generating a set of thoughts, desires and ideas that already existed in an embryonic state within the artist, almost without him knowing it himself.”

Mejan paints and exhibits his landscapes. He has always liked nature, because it allows him to reflect and reconnect with himself. But in his early days as a painter —he has been since he was a child— he already wanted to represent trees, fields, roads and skies so that these elements, and others that traditionally accompany them in the field of figurative art, would express what he could not say in his own voice.
However, now he takes advantage of the rather imprecise genre of what is usually called “landscape” —something that, by the way, has never existed, since it is an abstract concept— to express feelings. However, if we agree that one cannot speak about anything with force and conviction if one has not previously acquired experience in it, these feelings are originally his, but they also belong to those who receive them through his painting and recognize them as their own. Mejan has managed to be original, and at the same time participatory, with a painting that is very much his own, which identifies him, but which never distances him from the concepts that are the common heritage of the human race.
